lyrics

[Verse 1]
So one day, I was walking down my street alone
My everyday routine, when I walked out of my home
But this time, it differed and it hit me with a shock
Why are you alone's what someone asked me the next block
And it hit me, that I was for a couple years now
I must've lost track between every single town
Pacing in my mind I responded with a shrug
But suddenly this person came up to me with a hug
And I asked, "what were you doing" to this stranger
I've seen her once or twice, but that's because she was my neighbour
She backed away in seconds, but pulled in for a second
And after awkward seconds, she looked at me and reckoned
That it, seemed like I was stressed out and in pain
She saw me as a person who was walking in the rain
And I froze, looking back in time my feelings rose
A tiny buried image of my worst at simply most

[Hook]
And I said, this is who I am and who I'm forced to be
You can't stop what fate has turned out as my destiny
I walk this path alone with nobody to help me
So since you just don't know me, just mind your business please
I was cursed and I don't mind it at all
She replied, "you're not alone", and caught my tear on the fall
You make your path by yourself in everything that you do
So this destiny you carve and that's the everlasting truth

[Verse 3]
It made me open up my eyes, to see the bigger picture
United into one we can make a better structure
Every single rupture in the heart we can nurture
To push the person furthur, into a better future
I felt a heavy burden, lifted off my chest
Every single person, they all deserve a rest
Every single person, they all deserve a rest

They're not alone in life it shouldn't take a test
For them to realize that they really are the best
So live in the present and not in the past
Cause every single person here is given a second chance
Whatever happened then was a mistake, this I knew
But I took the burden on me cause I felt that it was due
A price that I'll pay that others wouldn't take
But I guess through that hug she took that price away

So now it's present day and I washed away the pay
The freedom and the joy, feels so good without the weight
No longer do I walk my street with hatred filled inside
I was blessed to meet that woman now there's no hatred to hide
I walk in the sunshine, and bask in the rays
I walk in the rain, but feel no single pain
I look at my life that I've carved for myself
And reminience back to the day she gave me help

[Hook]
When I said, this is who I am and who I'm forced to be
You can't stop what fate has turned out as my destiny
I walk this path alone with nobody to help me
So since you just don't know me, just mind your business please
I was cursed and I don't mind it at all
She replied, "you're not alone", and caught my tear on the fall
You make your path by yourself in everything that you do
So this destiny you carve and that's the everlasting truth

[Outro]
And these are the words that I live by
A simple phrase with simple words that stay alive
And these words I'll pass on to one in need
The everlasting truth, carve your own destiny
